LJPc webmail is at ljpc.email. Sign in with your full email address as the username and the password of that mailbox, and you can read and send your mail straight away in any browser, on your computer, tablet or phone. The address is the same for every domain hosted with LJPc hosting, so there is nothing to install or configure.

How to sign in to LJPc webmail

The sign-in page is in Dutch. The Dutch labels are in bold below, with their meaning in brackets.

  1. Open your browser and go to https://ljpc.email.
  2. Under Gebruikersnaam (username), enter your full email address, for example name@yourcompany.com.
  3. Under Wachtwoord (password), enter the password of that email address. This is your mailbox password, not the one for the customer portal.
  4. Click Inloggen (log in). You land in your inbox.

Before you sign in, check that the address bar shows https://ljpc.email, so you know you are entering your password on the real sign-in page. Note the ending: the address ends in .email. There is no website at ljpc.mail.

Switch the webmail to English

After signing in, the webmail opens in Dutch. To change it:

  1. Click Instellingen (settings) in the menu on the left.
  2. Click Instellingen again in the list, then Gebruikersinterface (user interface).
  3. Under Taal (language), choose English and click Opslaan (save).

From then on the webmail remembers your choice. The rest of this article uses the English names.

LJPc webmail runs on Roundcube, a widely used open-source webmail. If you have used Roundcube with another provider, everything will look familiar.

What you can do in the webmail

The menu sits on the left, or behind the menu button on your phone:

  • Compose: write a new message, add files and send it.
  • Mail: your folders, such as Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Junk and Trash, with a search box at the top.
  • Contacts: your address book. You can import contacts from a vCard or CSV file. Contacts you save here are kept by the webmail; on your phone you manage them separately.
  • Settings: your signature, Out of Office reply, filters, folders and language.
  • Dark mode: a dark screen for the evening.
  • Logout: at the very bottom. Always use it on a computer you share with others.

The webmail works directly on your mailbox on the server. Anything you read, move or delete here shows up the same way on your phone and computer when they use IMAP, and the other way round. The setup steps for your devices are in set up your email on your phone, tablet and computer.

Signature, Out of Office and filters

Add a signature

  1. Go to Settings and then Identities.
  2. Click your email address.
  3. Type your signature in the Signature field and click Save.

Turn on an Out of Office reply

  2. Fill in a Subject and your message under Body, for example when you are back and who covers for you.
  3. Set Status to On and click Save.
  4. Back at work? Set Status to Off again.

You can also set an auto-reply in Plesk, as described in create an email address in Plesk. Turn it on in one place only, so you always know which reply your senders get.

Sort incoming mail with filters

Under Settings and Filters you create rules for incoming mail, for example to move all mail from a regular supplier into its own folder. Filters run on the server, so they keep working when the webmail is closed. To forward mail to another address, use the forwarding feature in Plesk from set up email forwarding and aliases in Plesk.

LJPc webmail or Gmail?

Gmail is Google's webmail for Google addresses. LJPc webmail is the webmail for your own address hosted with LJPc, such as info@yourcompany.com. If you prefer to read your business mail in a Google app, these are your options:

More about mailboxes and passwords is in create an email address in the customer portal. Does a colleague manage the account? Ask them for the new password.

Secure email in your browser

LJPc hosting takes care of the webmail security for you:

  • The connection to ljpc.email is always encrypted over https.
  • External images in a message only load when you click Allow, so senders cannot quietly track that you opened their mail.
  • Repeated sign-in attempts with addresses that do not exist are blocked automatically, which keeps intruders away from your mailbox.
  • The webmail runs on two servers. If the first one fails, a second server in another data centre takes over automatically.

Still received an unwanted message? Click Junk to move it to the Junk folder. How to spot phishing and protect your domain is explained in email security against phishing, spam and abuse.
