Reseller hosting: manage all your client websites
Published on July 4, 2026 7 min read
With reseller hosting you host and manage multiple client websites on one plan. Register domains at cost price, set up Plesk and work out your margin.
Reseller hosting is the simplest way to manage multiple client websites from a single hosting plan. If you work as an agency, web builder or publisher with a growing portfolio of sites, you do not want to host and invoice them all separately. This article explains what reseller hosting is, who it is for, how you host multiple domains on one plan, how you register domains at cost price and set your own margin, and how you manage all your client sites centrally in Plesk. At the end you will find a step by step plan, from ordering a plan to your first client site.
What is reseller hosting?
Reseller hosting is a hosting plan that lets you host several websites at once and resell that hosting to your own clients. At LJPc a reseller plan is essentially a storage plan, just like regular web hosting, but for multiple domains at the same time. You host all your client sites on one plan and divide the storage across those sites yourself.
The idea is simple: you buy hosting (and optionally domains) from us at a fixed price and decide for yourself what you charge your client. The difference is your margin. We are your single point of contact for the technical side, and you are that for your clients.
Who is reseller hosting for?
Reseller hosting is meant for anyone who builds and manages several websites on a structural basis: marketing and web agencies, freelance web developers, and publishers with many client sites. If you build the occasional single website, regular web hosting makes more sense. If you manage 5, 50 or 200 sites, one reseller plan is clearer and often cheaper than the same number of separate plans, with one invoice and one place to manage everything.
Multiple client websites on one plan
A reseller plan is a storage plan with a fixed amount of disk space. Within that space you host as many client sites as fit: there is no fixed limit on the number of domains. You divide the storage across your sites yourself, exactly the way you want. Each site is technically a domain that you add to your plan, and all sites share that plan's storage together.
The LJPc reseller plans differ only in storage. Every other feature is the same: unlimited mailboxes and databases, free SSL on every domain, the latest PHP versions (ready for WordPress) and full DNS management. The rates below apply at the time of writing, per month and excluding VAT. For current prices, see the page with the reseller plans.
| Plan | Storage | Price per month |
|---|---|---|
| 50 GB | 50 GB | 45 euro |
| 100 GB | 100 GB | 80 euro |
| 200 GB | 200 GB | 150 euro |
If a single client site runs up against the limits of the shared storage, or needs a lot of traffic or processing power, a larger plan or a separate solution is the wiser choice. More on that further down.
Registering domains at cost price and setting your margin
As a reseller you often want to arrange your clients' domain names too. With a value pack you register client domains at cost price and get a discount on your hosting on top of that. The bigger your portfolio, the more you save. You usually combine a value pack with a reseller plan.
| Value pack | Domains at cost price | Discount on hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | 100 | 15 percent |
| Professional | 500 | 25 percent |
| Expert | 1000 | 50 percent |
How to work out your own margin
Your margin is the difference between what you buy from us and what you charge your client. For hosting, you divide the plan price by the number of sites you host on it. For domains, you pay the cost price and set your own rate towards your client.
Here is a worked example with round numbers. Say you host 15 client sites on a plan of 80 euro per month. Your cost per site is then about 5.33 euro per month. If you charge the client 15 euro per month for hosting, you keep almost 10 euro per site. A domain works the same way: if you register a .nl at cost price and charge your client a fixed yearly rate, the difference is your margin. That is how you build a predictable return on your portfolio.
Managing client websites in Plesk
You manage all your client sites from a single, modern control panel: Plesk. Management works the same everywhere, whether you host 5 or 200 sites. In your LJPc customer portal you see all your sites in a list, with the storage and email usage per site. From that portal you step through to Plesk with one click, without a separate password, and you see all your client sites in one overview.
Per site you arrange everything in Plesk under Websites & Domains: files, databases, email, DNS and SSL. A few features that are handy for resellers:
- WordPress Toolkit: install, update and secure WordPress on all your client sites from one dashboard. You manage plugins, updates and security for every site in one place, instead of site by site.
- Free SSL per site: every domain gets a free SSL certificate, so each client site works over https. Read more about the SSL certificate and how it secures your site.
- Full DNS management: you set the DNS records per domain, for example the A record that points a domain to the server.
- Unlimited mailboxes and databases: create as many email addresses and databases as a client site needs.
Step by step: from reseller plan to first client site
Here is how you put your first client website live on a reseller plan:
- Order a reseller plan. Choose the storage that fits your portfolio (50, 100 or 200 GB). The plans can be cancelled monthly.
- Optionally add a value pack. If you also want to register domains at cost price and get a discount on hosting, choose the value pack that matches your number of domains.
- Add your first client site. Open Plesk with one click from your portal and add your client's domain under Websites & Domains with Add Domain. The new site runs within your plan's shared storage.
- Point the domain to the server. Set the domain's name servers to those of LJPc (ns1.ljpc.network, ns2.ljpc.network and ns3.ljpc.network), or set the A record to the server IP. To understand what a name server actually does, read the article about the NS record.
- Turn on SSL. Activate the free SSL certificate so the site is reachable over https right away.
- Set up the site. Create the mailboxes and databases the client needs and install, for example, WordPress through WordPress Toolkit.
- Set your rate and invoice your client. Charge your own price for the hosting and the domain. Repeat these steps for each new client site.
When do you outgrow reseller hosting?
Reseller hosting is ideal for a portfolio of shared sites. If a client site structurally needs a lot of traffic or processing power, or you want full control over the server, a dedicated server is the logical next step. If it is only a matter of storage filling up, you simply move to a larger plan. Read how to change your hosting package without your client sites suffering for it.

Frequently asked questions
How many client websites can I host on one reseller plan?
As many as fit within your plan's storage. You divide the space across your client sites yourself and there is no fixed limit on the number of domains. So choose a plan based on the total storage your sites need together.
What is the difference between a reseller plan and a value pack?
A reseller plan is storage for your client sites. A value pack gives you domains at cost price plus a discount on your hosting. You host your sites on the reseller plan and use the value pack for the domain registrations. You usually combine the two.
How do I register domains at cost price?
Take a value pack that matches the number of domains you manage (100, 500 or 1000). Within that pack you register client domains at cost price and get an extra discount on your hosting. You decide for yourself what rate you charge your client for the domain.
How do I work out my own margin?
Your margin is the difference between your buying price and your selling price. Divide the plan price by the number of sites for your hosting cost per site, add the cost price of the domain, and set your own rate against that. What is left over is your margin.
Can I move existing client sites from another provider?
Yes. We help you migrate existing sites and email for free. We often move the first sites together, so you see how it works. If you also want to bring the domain names along, read how to transfer a domain to LJPc.
Do I manage all client sites from one place?
Yes. You manage every site in Plesk, with one click access from your customer portal. Whether you host 5 or 200 sites, management works the same everywhere, including WordPress management, email, DNS and SSL.
