‘LJPc translates my ideas seamlessly from practice to technology’

With his company Office Ninja IT, Randy Schilder is committed to helping users make their work more efficient and smarter. One of his most important products is the ON-Connector, an innovative and modular solution designed to optimise the integration of APIs and various communication methods. Over the past period we have had the opportunity to support him in developing it.

Repetitive actions

‘For years I did IT management at various companies, mainly in the staffing industry,’ says Randy. ‘Three years ago I decided to start for myself. What struck me was that many daily activities were unnecessarily slowed down by repetitive actions, such as retyping data between systems. That is not only time-consuming, but also error-prone. That is why I decided to develop a solution.’

Frankenstein machine

Four years ago Randy built the first prototype of the ON-Connector. ‘With my own knowledge I already got quite far. The system worked, but it was anything but polished and not yet future-proof. You could compare it to a kind of Frankenstein machine. But it had potential, so I decided to bring in help to professionalise the system.’

The start of the collaboration

‘A fellow professional put me in touch with LJPc, because he thought I would have a good click with Lars. And that was right: after a short call he immediately understood what I wanted. I showed him what I already had, and he knew right away what was needed to take my idea to a higher level. Within two weeks we had a concrete plan! Together we developed my prototype step by step into the current ON-Connector. What I really appreciate is that throughout the collaboration I always have direct contact with Lars. No changing specialists, but one fixed point of contact. That gives clarity and trust.’

From practice to technology

‘The collaboration with Lars goes incredibly well,’ Randy continues. ‘His technical expertise fits perfectly with my knowledge of customer needs. In addition, he regularly comes up with valuable ideas and suggestions. Often I am enthusiastic about a practical example, and Lars knows like no other how to translate this into a technical solution. I have never met anyone who can do that so well, but that is not necessary either,’ Randy jokes. ‘Lars understood from the start exactly which direction I wanted to go. Moreover, he immediately advised us to work modularly, which comes in extremely handy with the current expansion.’

The future

At the moment there is a professionally working system and the first customers are already connected. ‘It was and certainly is exciting,’ he admits. ‘Now it really comes down to it. But there are still many ideas and wishes on the table that I want to work out together with Lars, such as the implementation of two-factor authentication. The further development will take place step by step. But first focus on what is there now. And I am enormously proud of that!’
